Barbara Wellner

Barbara Wellner has an extensive career in creating, developing and producing a wide variety of television programming. She has worked with many of the cable and broadcast networks overseeing literally hundreds of hours of original programming.  Barbara was on the team that developed and launched FX.  As Senior Producer, she was involved with establishing the philosophy and identity of the channel and overseeing the original programming. It was at FX where she discovered Tom Bergeron, Jeff Probst and Phil Keoghan.  As a producer she has developed and produced shows for CBS, Sci-Fi Channel, Bravo, E!, Style, and Fox Reality Channel. These shows include: The Soup, Style Court, Reality Remix, Reality Binge, Celebrity Jury, Dream Team, Breakfast Time, and Judge Mooney.

Karen Melamed produced for a local live morning talk show Karen Melamedcalled “People Are Talking” co-hosted by an up and coming talent named Oprah Winfrey.   After working her way up the ladder in local television, she was asked to join Winfrey as a producer on her nationally syndicated talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” where she produced many of  Oprah’s top rated episodes.  She created, developed and sold shows for KingWorld/CBS, Fox, Buena Vista/Disney and Telepictures/Warner Bros., where she also found and developed hosts and on-air talent.  She was Executive Producer of 2 top rated court shows “Texas Justice” and “Judge Alex” for 20th television and consulted on shows for Paramount, 20th Television and BET.
